Experience Nichols in Person
Nichols offers several ways to visit based on where your family is in the school search. Begin with an Open House, return for a closer look during the school day, or participate in an event centered on a particular interest. Families are encouraged to attend more than one event as they move through the admissions process but it is not required.
Choosing a school becomes clearer when you can see students and teachers interacting, experience the rhythm of the day, and ask questions in the places where it all happens.

Open House
The best place to begin for families new to Nichols.
Open House provides an introduction to the Nichols experience. Explore campus, learn about Middle and Upper School academics and student life, and meet students, faculty, school leaders, and members of the admissions team.

Student Workshops and Special Events

Nichols School invites non-Nichols students in grades 4–6 to join us for the next Young Scholars Workshop, a three-hour immersive experience designed to ignite imagination, creativity, and curiosity.
Nichols School invites non-Nichols students in grades 4–6 to join us for the next Young Scholars Workshop, a three-hour immersive experience designed to ignite imagination, creativity, and curiosity.
During the morning, students will rotate through three interactive 45-minute workshops, led by Nichols faculty and inspired by the dynamic learning environment that defines our Middle School.
For Upper School Applicants
The following experiences are part of the Upper School application process. Families can register through the parent portal after beginning an application.
Viking Visits
Families may choose to extend the visit to include the admissions test and/or interview the same day; in that case, pickup time is 2:45 p.m.
Viking Visits begin Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Upper School applicants spend part of a school day alongside current Nichols students. These morning visits run from 7:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students attend three classes, participate in a student life activity, and meet with student ambassadors and members of the Admission Office. Lunch is also provided in the Dining Hall.
Families may choose to extend the visit to include the admissions test and/or interview the same day; in that case, pickup time is 2:45 p.m.

Admission Test Dates
Upper School applicants are required to complete an admissions test. After submitting an application, families can select an available testing date through the parent portal.

Open House is generally the best first step for families who are new to Nichols. See Us in Action offers a closer school-day experience, while Viking Visits and admissions testing are designed for Upper School applicants who have entered the application process.
