Boys prep hockey enjoyed a successful, busy fall and winter season. Many weekends were spent out of town in Boston, Lawrenceville, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Ohio and Minnesota. The team went 2-1 at the Northstar Showcase, finished the season 4-1 vs. South Kent and had a record of 3-1 at the Northwood Tournament. The boys were 3-1 at the Lawrenceville Tournament, losing only to Belmont Hill in the finals. The team swept the Hill School and the Hill Academy this season with two wins vs. each school. Nichols also hosted it’s annual One Last Goal Game vs. Gilmour Academy and came away with a 4-2 victory that night. Finishing up with the New York State Tournament in March, the team defeated the Buffalo Regals 5-2 in the Semi-Finals. That set the match-up for the state finals vs. Bishop Kearney Selects. It was an amazing, hard-fought game; unfortunately, the Vikings came up short losing a heartbreaker 2-1 in overtime. Joey Muldowney ’22 was the Most Valuable Player. Giuseppe Fiorillo ’22 and Cody Bauer ’22 received the Coaches Awards. Jaden Ward ’22 was the Most Improved Player. Joseph Blackley ’22 was named All-WNY Scholar-Athlete. Seniors Matthew Alberti, Samuel Christiano, and Giuseppe Fiorillo were named Honorable Mention All-WNY Scholar-Athlete. The team will greatly miss the eighteen seniors! Their time, talent and dedication were valued! Thank you!
