Tryout Information - Please click here for specific times and venues for each team’s first tryout session. Feel free to contact the coach directly should you have any questions. The schedule for the entire week of tryouts is posted on the Athletics page of the Nichols website.

 

Team Family Meetings – Once tryouts are complete, the coach will organize a meeting to communicate important information about the season. Specific dates and times of the meetings will be communicated by the coach. Next week there will be a short video sent to families with general information about the winter season. Please take the time to view it, and be sure to contact me if you have any questions.

 

Families at Tryouts – In the best interest of our athletes, we ask that families are not courtside or rink-side during the tryout sessions or practice sessions. Many of our winter sports tryout sessions will be highly competitive, and often families' presence can add to the pressure already on the students. I hope you will all respect this request.

 

Travel into Canada – Several teams will travel to Canada during the winter season. There are no longer any COVID-related restrictions on travel to Canada. Specific details will precede each trip.

 

Sports Physical – All athletes must have an up-to-date sports physical on file at the nurse's office before they begin winter practice. If your athlete does not have an up-to-date physical on file, they must get one before the first day of tryouts. No student can participate in athletic practices until their Magnus requirements are complete, which includes a current physical on file (physical from an NYS doctor done within the last 12 months).
