Nichols Theatre Goes Pink with Legally Blonde, JR.
Nichols School
Elle Woods is headed to the Flickinger Performing Arts Center, and she’s bringing plenty of pink. Nichols School presents Legally Blonde JR. on Thursday, Nov. 12, and Friday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m.
Based on the hit Broadway musical and the beloved film, Legally Blonde JR. follows Elle Woods as she takes on stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her for not being “serious” enough and heads off to Harvard, Elle charms her way into law school. Along the way, she befriends classmate Emmett and hairdresser Paulette, and she discovers that brains and style aren’t mutually exclusive. With sharp wit and plenty of sass, Elle starts outsmarting her peers and realizes law may be her calling after all.
The production’s cast and crew are in the final stretch of rehearsals.
“We’re headed into the final weeks of rehearsal for our 7-12 production of Legally Blonde JR , and it’s such an exciting time! Months of hard work are paying off, and the cast and crew are really starting to gel,” said producer Kristen Tripp Kelley. “The story and characters are vibrant, the music is spirited, and I think audiences are in for a treat.”
Renee Hawthorne directs Nichols School's production, with music direction by Abby Brudz and choreography by Alex Watts. Kari Achatz designed the feature poster.
