Darren McCormick Named Director of Boys Hockey and 18U Head Coach

Nichols School
Nichols School is excited to announce the appointment of Buffalo native Darren McCormick as our new Director of Boys Hockey and 18U Head Coach.

McCormick joins our athletic program with an extensive background in both elite playing and competitive coaching. He played collegiately at SUNY Cortland, where he excelled both on the ice and in the classroom, graduating summa cum laude. Following his collegiate career, McCormick moved into the professional ranks, putting together a successful seven-year playing career. His professional journey included stints in the ECHL and SPHL, as well as several seasons competing in the top-tier professional leagues of France and Hungary.

Over the past three years, McCormick has transitioned to a behind-the-bench role, building a strong reputation for player development in junior and youth hockey. Most recently, he served as the 18U Head Coach and Academy Director for the Elmira Aviators AAA program in the NAHL Tier II. His proven leadership on and off the ice makes him an exceptional fit to lead our hockey program and guide our student-athletes.

Please join us in welcoming Coach McCormick to our school community.
