Peter Wickman joined Nichols School as the Dean of Enrollment Management in July 2021. He brings 15 years of independent school experience to the new role, where he oversees admissions, financial aid, and enrollment management processes for Nichols’ Admissions Office.

 

Wickman most recently worked at The White Mountain School in New Hampshire from 2017 to 2021 as director of admission and financial aid. He is a frequent presenter at national conferences on admission work in independent schools.

 

Wickman worked in admissions offices of boarding schools in Pennsylvania and Ohio prior to his tenure at White Mountain. 

 

Prior to his work in admissions, Wickman was an Upper School Spanish teacher at Tatnall School in Delaware. Throughout his independent school career, he has also coached varsity baseball, cross country, and track teams. He has been a dorm parent and advisor, and has led groups of students to the top of Mt. Washington and down to the Galapagos Islands.

 

Wickman earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Gettysburg College and a Master of Arts in Hispanic Studies from Villanova University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. Wickman is an avid skier, runner and cyclist. His favorite adventures, however, are the ones he takes with his wife, Maddy, and their two sons, Wiley and Winter.
