The Fall SAT Course is designed for Nichols School juniors and seniors taking the SAT in September, October or November 2020. Registrants should have completed Algebra II prior to registration.
This course includes five 90-minute classes each Tuesday night from August 25 to September 22. Classes will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The plan is to host this course in person at Nichols School with the ability to transition to distance learning.
In addition to class sessions, students should expect 5-7 hours of homework each week. This course offers a comprehensive content review for every section of the SAT, including the Optional Essay. Students will learn effective strategies for time management, confidence-building, goal-setting and reducing test anxiety. These will be interactive lessons that engage students and encourage questions and participation.
The cost of the program is $550 and includes two textbooks and a curriculum folder. Registration will be based on a first-come, first-served basis and will close when capacity is reached.
Testing fees are not included in the cost of the course. Students must register online on the College Board website. Please note the registration deadlines to avoid late fees.
The course is directed by Chris Hill, Associate Director of College Counseling and English Faculty, at Nichols School. Unsure whether the SAT or ACT is the better test for you? Contact Chris at chill@nicholsschool.org for help deciding.
