The middle school years are a transformative and influential time of tremendous intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth and change. The Nichols Middle School offers a safe, supportive, and challenging environment in which students are exposed to a breadth and depth of academic subjects and experiences in the arts and athletics, all while they develop the skills, habits of mind, and resilience needed to be successful in our Upper School and in life.
In Nichols’ Middle School, we care about three things above all: the intellectual growth of our students; creating a community of learners in which all students have a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose; and the development of the “whole child” as we work towards our Mission of training “minds, bodies, and hearts for the work of life.”
We care deeply about each student who comes to Nichols during this formative time, and we hope to foster curiosity and resilience, while helping to develop and hone their academic skills such as note-taking, research methods, organization, time management, and study skills. We are fortunate to have an experienced faculty who want to get to know each student and help them blossom into young adults with compassion and character. And, we value our community and hope to establish partnerships with each student and each family.
