Spring 2023 Girls Lacrosse (15-5 Overall, 12-0 MML)
The girls lacrosse team once again enjoyed a spectacular season! They went undefeated in regular season league play, defeating each team twice, which led to the number one seed in the playoff tournament. The team also had some hard fought non-league battles vs. Cleveland Heights, Orchard Park, Lancaster and Hamburg. The Vikings hosted St. Mary’s Lancaster in the league semi-finals where they had their closest game of the season earning a 16-13 win. Nichols hosted the finals as well, where they defeated Nardin 16-10 and won their 3rd consecutive league championship! The girls represented Monsignor Martin at the state semi-finals where they lost to a talented Our Lady of Mercy team. Julia Peters ‘23, Molly Duffett ‘24 and Kiersten Smith ‘24 were named 1st Team All-Catholic. Kate Sheline ‘24 and Gwyneth Sheline ‘26 were named 2nd Team All-Catholic. Kamryn Amici ‘24, Molly DiGiulio ‘25 and Kirsten Domagola ‘24 were named Honorable Mention All-Catholic. Kirsten Domagola ‘24 was the Most Valuable Player of the MML Tournament. Julia Peters ‘23 was named 2nd Team All-WNY, USA Lacrosse All-Academic and received Honorable Mention All-WNY Scholar-Athlete. Molly Duffett ‘24 and Kiersten Smith ‘24 were named 3rd Team All-WNY. Molly Duffett ‘24 was the Most Valuable Player. Julia Peters ‘23 and Kiersten Smith ‘24 earned Coaches Awards. Molly DiGiulio ‘25 was the Most Improved Player. Best of luck to the two seniors!
