Michael McClure '20 Invited to Piano Master Class with Konrad Skolarski

Michael McClure '20 has been selected to take part in a piano master class with Polish piano star Konrad Skolarski tonight, March 5 at 7 p.m. at Kleinhan's Music Hall.

McClure will be performing Ludwig von Beethoven's 32 Variations on an Original Theme in C minor at the master class with Skolarski. He will be one of four students from the Western New York area who will work one-on-one with Skolarski in front of a live audience.

McClure will then perform at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at Kleinhan's Music Hall ahead of Skolarski's performance with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

The master class is free and open to the public, but reservations should be made in advance online at bpo.org or by calling the Kleinhans Music Hall Box Office at 716-885-5000. Tickets for Saturday's performance can also be found on bpo.org.

Beethoven's 32 Variations is one solo piece that McClure is preparing as he looks ahead to the Licentiate Exam from The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Ontario in June. The Licentiate of The Royal Conservatory (LRCM) in Piano Performance is the culmination of an extensive program and involves performing a full 75-minute program consisting of multiple pieces and earning an Honors standing of at least 70 percent.

McClure will be continuing his development in piano performance while attending the University of Chicago in the fall.

Congratulations to Michael for being recognized with this opportunity!
