Nichols School Introduces WNY’s First Private School Early Action Application

Nichols School is excited to announce a new Early Action application for students applying to the ninth grade for the 2026-27 school year. As the first private high school in Western New York to offer an Early Action program, this new option provides a streamlined path for students who know Nichols is their top choice.

Inspired by many top colleges and universities, Early Action allows students to apply early and receive an admissions decision sooner. Unlike an Early Decision commitment, this non-binding option allows families the time and flexibility to make their decision with less pressure. It’s an ideal way for applicants to show their enthusiasm for Nichols and provides a customized path in the admissions process.

"This is a significant shift driven by our commitment to families," said Peter Wickman, Dean of Enrollment. "Early action allows students to demonstrate interest and decreases the stress families feel in the application process. Given our sustained enrollment growth, this program is a testament to Nichols' leadership in education and our dedication to building a personal connection to every applicant."

The Early Action application is now open. The deadline to apply is December 1, 2025, and all applicants will be notified of a decision by December 5, 2025.
