Goal: Enstice, 59’
The Boys Varsity squad started off the season with a decisive 2-0 victory against Lancaster High school on Wednesday. With goals from Juniors and Forwards Anthony Rambino and Thomas Enstice, assisted by Michael McHale and Rambino respectively, the boys secured the win without much contention. The defense, led by Senior Michael Tuber, stopped Lancaster at the center line like a brick wall. When the ball occasionally did end up on Nichols’s side of the field, Goalkeeper Senior Lukas Benchley made the necessary saves. It wasn’t the cleanest win, however; Nichols received several fouls and two yellow cards. Normally, the members of the bench would speak out against the fouls, but this year, due to COVID regulation, the “bench mob” has been left benchless. This new benchless mob was led by injured Senior Aaron Stein, dressed in a suit, who led the group’s cheers, but calmed them when necessary. New members of the team, Sophomore Alexander Viney and Junior Nick Moore both demonstrated their skill at left midfield. Lancaster was a challenging opponent, and the victory against them is good news for the rest of the season.
