The Nichols varsity soccer team can’t seem to lose, throttling Timon 5-0 on Thursday. The offense, which has been impressive, scoring 3.9 goals per game over the Vikings current seven game win streak, is lead by four players, the only Vikings with more than seven points on the season: junior Jesse Adamu (21 points), sophomore Tommy Enstice (20), sophomore Michael McHale (17), and senior Karim Belal (12). All four scored over the course of a eight-minute flurry of scoring, from the twenty-first to the twenty-ninth minutes. The midfield created chances incessantly against a weak Timon back four, with sophomore Colton Christian recording his first assist of the season, along with one for McHale two for junior Michael Tuber. On the team’s senior night, the much-maligned 2020 class of the soccer team played most of the minutes. Bright spots of the playing time for the typical bench-warmers came in impressive defense from Laz Rifkin, lateral quickness from Ryan Krum, and a goal from sophomore midfielder Yamato Takabe. St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute comes to Amherst Street a week from tonight for the penultimate game of the regular season, a contest with palpable playoff ramifications.
