Middle School Music Teacher
Title: Middle School Music Teacher (Grades 5-8)

Reports To: Head of Middle School
Compensation Year: July 2025- June 2026 (Full-Time Exempt)
Summary: The Middle School Music teacher is responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering the Middle School music curriculum for grades 5-8. The ideal candidate is a passionate and adaptable music educator who teaches choir and general music to students in grades 5-8, possesses strong piano skills, and is proficient in either guitar or ukulele. This position requires a dynamic teacher who thrives in a fast-paced environment,
has excellent people skills, is willing to collaborate with colleagues, and can effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Candidates must maintain open lines of communication with students and families.
Duties:- Teach choir and general music to students in grades 5-8.
- Accompany students on piano and provide instrumental instruction through hands-on general music courses.
- Prepare and conduct several performances throughout the year.
- Guide students in solo and all-county music opportunities.
- Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school staff.
- Adapt lessons and approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:- Degree in Music Education or related field (preferred).
- Strong piano skills; proficiency in guitar or ukulele.
- Experience teaching choir and general music.
- Excellent interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- Ability to be flexible and go with the flow in a dynamic school setting.
- Experience conducting student performances and coordinating outside music opportunities.
- Ability to collaborate with fellow faculty members and administrators to enhance the school and further its mission.
