On Wednesday, August 27th and on Thursday, August 28th, the sixth grade will be venturing off campus for two days of fun experiences. The first day we will do some hiking at the Niagara Gorge and we will visit Niagara Power Vista. Dismissal time will be at 3:15 pm. On Thursday we will head to Letchworth Park to enjoy nature and learn about the environment with an expert guide. These orientation trips are a popular Nichols tradition, and allow students and faculty to get to know each other more personally and make connections outside of the classroom setting. Students should wear comfortable outdoor clothing and appropriate footwear for hiking, and bring a packed lunch and a snack. Parents can pick their children up at 4:30 pm from the Nichols parking lot between the gym and Center ‘63. More detailed information will be provided by your student’s advisor the week before the start of the school. Friday, August 30th will be a day off from school to allow families to take advantage of the Labor Day weekend.
The sixth-grade team and the entire Middle School faculty look forward to getting to know your child and watching the tremendous amount of growth that happens during this year. If you have any questions regarding the first few days of school, please do not hesitate to contact me, Rebeca Redondo, at rredondo@nicholsschool.org
