Nichols School Opens 130th Year on September 1

After weeks of events to introduce students, families, and new faculty and staff to Nichols School, the full student body came together for the first day of classes in the school's 130th year.

The morning began with a "senior sunrise" as members of the Class of 2022 pitched blankets in the Quad to enjoy the beginning of their last first day in the Upper School.

The full student body, along with faculty and staff, gathered in the Quad for an All-School Meeting to kick off the year. Head of School Chris Burner, Interim Head of Middle School Greg Plumb '96, and Head of Upper School Sarah Jacobson provided opening remarks to all in attendance and set the tone for the year to come. Upper School Student Council co-presidents Sal Deni '22 and Mirann Gacioch '22 shared their hopes for the school year as Nichols returns with all students in person.

Students continued through the day to meet with their advisors, learn the tools they will need to navigate the school year, and meet with their classes for the first time.
