Faith Walh ’22 Nominated for 2021 Kenny Award for Outstanding Leading Actress

Nichols School junior Faith Walh ’22 was nominated for a 2021 Kenny Award in the Outstanding Leading Actress category. Walh was one of five nominees in this category from across Western New York, recognized for strong performance in the acting, vocal and dance categories. The Kenny Awards, sponsored by Shea’s Buffalo, celebrate the excellence of Western New York students in theatrical and musical performances.

This year, Walh played Lana Sherwood among other roles in the Live Radio Play adaptation of War of the Worlds. As a sophomore, she played a leading role as Victoria Conseil in Nichols’ production of 20,000 Leagues, an adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic novel written by Nichols alumna Bella Poynton ’03. Walh has also written and performed in the One-Act Play Festival for three years and participates in Nichols’ Dance Ensemble and Choir. Outside Nichols, she has also performed at many respected Western New York theatres, including the Irish Classical Theatre, Shakespeare in the Park, Musicalfare, Theatre of Youth and ArtPark.

As a finalist, Walh is one of just 10 students from across Western New York taking part in a series of Boot Camp workshops this week. The week concludes with the 2021 Kenny Ceremony on Saturday, May 8.

Congratulations Faith, and best of luck at the 2021 Kennys!
