It wasn’t a close affair against their league adversaries from Williamsville as Nichols took yet another league win, 10-0. Things weren’t close from the start, as the Vikings scored four goals in the first ten minutes. The starters played for twenty-six minutes, in which the team scored six times: sophomore Tommy Enstice and junior Jesse Adamu scored twice each, while sophomore Michael McHale and junior Michael Tuber scored one apiece. Then, the substitutes came in. In a full retooling of the squad, two seniors, Ethan Redden and Jackson Glynn, saw their first minutes of the season. It wasn’t pretty football––Aaron Stein’s touches weren’t exactly soft, Laz Rifkin didn’t necessarily find feet with every pass, among other missteps by the bench mob––but the team still managed to find four more goals: one each from Redden, seniors Joey Watroba and Karim Belal, and junior Noah Stabler. Offensive bright spots of the reserve team came on Charlie Watroba’s assist of his brother Joey’s goal, and senior winger Ryan Krum’s elaborate skill moves and accurate crosses. The team, which hasn’t lost since September 10, has perhaps its biggest game of the season against Canisius, a team the Vikings tied away from home two weeks ago, on Friday, a battle for dominance in the Monsignor-Martin league.
