Boys Soccer Defeats St. Francis

The score does not portray the degree to which the offense dominated in a 2-0 win against St. Francis on Monday. Playing in their home-opener and first league game, the Nichols midfielders and strikers kept the pressure on the St. Francis defense for eighty minutes. It didn’t take that long, though, for Tommy Enstice to find the back of the net: on a scrappy shot in the 16th minute, the sophomore winger found the back of the net, putting the Vikings up by one. Then, in this reporter’s favorite type of goal, Ryan Moline, a St. Francis center-back, put one in his own net. Up 2-0 via the own goal, the Vikings kept the pressure on, but didn’t score again. The boys will take their momentum to Kenmore to take on rival St. Joseph’s in another league clash next Wednesday.
