Rudy Pompert Hired as Varsity Boys Soccer Coach

Nichols School has hired Rudy Pompert as varsity boys soccer coach. Pompert will work alongside coach Chris Walter to lead the Vikings this fall as they defend their 2020 Monsignor Martin league championship.
 
Pompert brings extensive club and collegiate coaching experience to his new role with the varsity boys soccer program. Pompert has served as an assistant coach with the Niagara University Division I women’s soccer program. He also works as the Boys Director, Director of Goalkeeping, and U-16 girls coach for the Empire United Soccer Academy. Since 1997, Pompert has also held coaching roles with Buffalo State College (Head Mens Soccer Coach, Head Womens Soccer Coach), Empire United Development Academy (Head Coach and Director of Goalkeeping), professional women’s soccer team WNY Flash (Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach), Delaware Soccer Club (Director of Soccer), and Amherst Soccer Association (Director of Coaching).
 
A native of the Netherlands, Pompert was a member of the Netherlands’ National University Team during the World University Games in Sheffield, England in 1991 and again in Buffalo in 1993. Pompert holds a USSF A-License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma among other coaching licenses.
