Holly Kemp Named 2021 CFSational Woman of WNY by Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Holly Kemp, Nichols School’s Associate Director of Athletics and Middle School Director of Athletics, was honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) on April 29 as a CFSational Woman of Western New York.

In college, Kemp became friends with Nichols alumna KC Bryan White ’97. When she learned about White’s “Friends of KC” national fundraising team that supported the search for a cure to cystic fibrosis, Kemp decided she wanted to get involved. She led her first Great Strides team for the CFF in New Jersey in 1999, and has organized a team for each of the past 20 years.

When Kemp moved to Buffalo in 2007, she continued to volunteer and support the CFF and organize a Great Strides team each year. Kemp joined the Board of Directors of the CFF Western New York chapter in 2010 and currently serves as the advocacy chair.

White introduced Kemp at the 2021 CFSational Women of WNY Luncheon on Thursday. Kemp shared her gratitude for how serving others and helping the fight to find a cure for cystic fibrosis has changed her life.

“I recently read a headline that said, ‘Service is an Attitude, Not a Department,’” Kemp said. “I cut it out and taped it to my desk as this sentiment really resonated with me.

“Curing Cystic Fibrosis has become ‘my cause’. I love volunteering at all the WNY Chapter events, traveling to Albany to advocate and serving on the board. I am in awe every year of the countless donations from my family & friends for my Great Strides team. I have seen the difference the new drugs have made in KC’s life as well as others with CF.

“The Cystic Fibrosis Community is like none other that I’ve been a part of,” Kemp continued. “Everyone is full of hope and a contagious positive attitude. Together we are making a difference and adding tomorrows to those with CF.”

Congratulations Holly on this tremendous recognition for your work in the community!
