Trey Denman ’21 and Reilly Hamill ’21 Honored by Buffalo Squash Racquets Association

For their accomplishments during the 2019-20 squash season, the Buffalo Squash Racquets Association (BSRA) honored Trey Denman ‘21 with their Outstanding Junior Achievement Award, and Reilly Hamill ’21 received Most Improved Player honors.

Denman was awarded the Outstanding Junior Achievement Award for his dedication and growth throughout the squash season both locally and nationally. He was voted co-captain of the Nichols boys squash team last season, and earned the team’s Most Valuable Player honor. He played a leading role as Nichols boys squash won the Western New York Boys League championship in 2019 and finished as a US High School Nationals finalist in 2020. Denman has also won four City Men’s championships and five Junior Championships in BSRA competition.

Hamill has played with the Nichols girls varsity squash team since eighth grade. She was selected as the team’s Most Improved Player as a freshman playing #4. After alternating between #2 and #3 as a sophomore, Hamill solidified her role as a leader in 18 matches last season, playing 10 matches at #2 and eight at #1. Six of those matches were against boys in a combined Ontario squash league. Hamill and the Nichols varsity girls squash team placed 20th in the nation at last year’s 2020 US High School National Tournament, the best finish in program history.

Congratulations to both Trey and Reilly on their outstanding play!
