Austin X. ’26 Wins Big at 2020 World Open Chess Tournament

Earlier this month, Austin X. ’26 placed first in his group at the 2020 World Open Chess Tournament, the largest open tournament for United States competitors.
 
After nine rounds of competition over three days, Austin won eight games and tied one to place first out of 234 players in the U1400 section.
 
Austin is a member of the Nichols chess team led by Jason DeGroat and looks forward to continued competition in the future. Congratulations!
