Faculty and Staff

All Nichols faculty and staff will be proficient in culturally responsive professional practices, equity literate, and promote anti-racist policies and behaviors.
Some of the strategies Nichols School is adopting to improve faculty and staff outcomes are:

  • Convening a committee under the Dean of Academics to begin a comprehensive curriculum review and establish protocols and tools for this process. This committee is comprised of department chairs, division heads, team leaders, and the Director of Inclusivity and Community Building.
  • Comprehensive faculty development which includes a faculty growth program. This program is led by a group of growth coaches overseen by the Dean of Academics, Director of Inclusivity and Community Building, and division heads.
  • Developing a system of faculty evaluation separate from growth that clearly defines essential expectations and characteristics of professional excellence.
  • The administrative cabinet will complete and review an organization-wide equity audit to establish benchmarks and set goals for increasing diversity, improving equitable practices, and fostering inclusion.
  • Professional development for all athletic coaches to improve equity literacy and raise awareness of how sports can create a sense of belonging and community.
