Vikings Honored at 2019 Fall Sports Awards Ceremony

On November 12, Upper School student-athletes competing on Nichols' varsity boys and girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, volleyball, sailing, field hockey, boys golf and girls tennis teams were awarded for their dedication, leadership and outstanding performances in their respective sports. These honorees were recognized by their coaches for their efforts and growth as athletes, as teammates and as people.

The awards capped a successful fall season for the Vikings. The varsity boys soccer team won the Monsignor Martin regular-season title before being defeated by St. Joe's in the championship game, varsity girls soccer advanced to a third-straight Monsignor Martin championship game, and varsity field hockey finished as CISAA finalists. Alex Aubrecht '21, Holly Arrison '21 and Gabriela Gallen-Kallela-Sirén '22 qualified for the New York State Federation Championships in cross country, and Sirén became the first Nichols girls runner to win first place at the All-Catholic Championship race. Four boys golfers – John Boscarino '23, Carson Kania '21, Gabe Schulefand '20 and Anthony Tuber '20 – qualified for state championships in June.
