The Daemen College community is preparing to honor Nichols School alumnus Stuart Angert '58, P'90 with its Community Excellence Award. The presentation will take place during Daemen's annual Scholarship Gala on September 20.
The Community Excellence Award recognizes a community member who serves as an exemplary leader and who defines the spirit of Daemen College.
After graduating from Nichols School, Angert earned his B.A. degree from Colgate University and his MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Angert was a Nichols School Trustee from 2002-2008 and his wife Joyce was recognized as an honorary alumnus in 2003.
A lifelong resident of Amherst, Angert serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations in the Western New York and Adirondack regions. He devotes a significant amount of his efforts as a member of the board directors of Independent Health, a member of the Nichols Marketing and Communications Committee, and as Chair of the Independent Health Foundation.
