Middle School Students Recognized for Excellence on Youth Chinese Test

Through the studies of modern and classical languages, Nichols School students have the chance to learn from faculty who bring a broad range of international experiences into the classroom. Middle School students studying Mandarin Chinese are encouraged to test their skills and push their limits to improve their language skills in daily and academic use.

This spring, nine Middle School students were recognized for their excellence on the Youth Chinese Test (YCT), an international standardized Chinese proficiency test taken by students from all over the world including North and South America, Asia, Europe and Australia. The YCT is divided into four levels, from YCT Level 1 up to YCT Level 4.

The following Nichols Middle School students earned their language certificates and score reports for outstanding performance:

YCT Level 1 Winners: Finn B. '24, Reed E. '24, James H. '24, Sayward M. '24, Jeremiah W '24

YCT Level 2 Winners: Malachi D. '23, Giselle J. '23, Clare R. '23

YCT Level 4 Winners: Kylie S. '25

Congratulations to all our Mandarin Chinese students!
