Nichols Introduces Varsity Basketball Coaches

Nichols School announced today that Courtney Tennant has been named Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach for the 2018-2019 season.

Tennant has been with the Nichols Basketball Program since the 2014-2015 season where she served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach. In the 2016-2017 season, she moved up to assist with the Varsity program and focused on post-skill development.

Prior to joining Nichols, Courtney was a four-year starter at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She was named a Second Team Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American, RIT Female Athlete of the Year, First Team All-Liberty League, and joined the 1,000 point scorer club in January 2014, in addition to many other accolades.

During her time at RIT, she earned a Master's in Business Administration concentrated in Management Information Systems; as well as a BS in New Media Marketing and minors in Digital Business and Mass Communications.

Nichols School announced today that Joe Mihalics has been hired as Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach for the 2018-2019 season. Mihalics previously coached basketball at Bishop Timon – St. Jude High School for 13 years, and he was the Head Coach there for three years. He was a standout baseball player at the University at Buffalo, and was inducted in the UB Hall of Fame in 2013. Currently, Mihalics is a Training Instructor with the Buffalo Police Department, where he teaches physical training and defensive tactics. He has a wife and three children.
