Nichols School was lucky to have special guest Kevin Pearce on campus today, April 8. Pearce, a former professional snowboarder and co-founder of the LoveYourBrain Foundation, was training for the 2010 Olympic trials in Park City, Utah when he suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Kevin's recovery—and his journey to accept his new life—was recently chronicled in HBO's award winning film The Crash Reel. Post-accident, Kevin has become a passionate advocate for the prevention of brain injuries and the promotion of a brain healthy lifestyle for all people.
Upper School students watched the HBO film before Spring Break, and today Kevin spoke about his experiences to grades 5-12 during a special morning meeting.
