Golf Camp

Five days of driving range and on-course instruction at Harvest Hill, Arrowhead, Bob-O-Link and Delaware Park golf courses. These distinct facilities provide golfers with focused learning in putting, chipping and pitching, sand play, as well as the long game. Emphasis on etiquette, rules and mechanics. Convenient drop-off and pick-up at Nichols. Participants will need their own basic set of golf clubs and equipment.

Writing for the College Application

June 12-14 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

For all rising seniors


For three days, students will have the opportunity to work intensively on the various narrative parts of the college application: the personal essay, the supplemental essay, and the "Why our college?" essay. This course will be taught by Nichols Writing Center Co-Directors, Lolly Errickson and Julia Marthia. Students will be able to work with these teachers one-on-one to conference and generate ideas for their essays. They will provide continued support through the summer to help complete these essays. Both Mrs. Errickson and Mrs. Marthia have been supporting students in this particular writing process at Nichols School for several years.

Nichols Driver Education course combines the benefits of practical driving skills and defensive driving techniques for the safe and responsible operation of a motor vehicle.

Successful completion of this course will qualify the student for DMV certification (formerly Blue Card) and insurance reduction certificate. (Please check with your insurance company to ensure this fulfills their requirements for a premium reduction).

The program consists of 24 hours of in-vehicle instruction, including six hours behind the wheel and an additional 24 hours of classroom instruction.

Students must turn 16 years of age by July 9, 2018, and hold a valid learner's permit or driver's license to participate.

Students are permitted to miss no more than two regularly scheduled classes and must attend make-up classes that will be made available on select Friday's. Students must attend all 16 classes in order to meet the State Education Department requirements for successful completion.

All students will receive 90 minutes of "in-car" and 90 minutes of classroom instruction daily (three hours total). The program is available from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Registration requests will be honored as they are received.

Physics SAT II Preparation

June 4-8 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Open to Nichols students only


This course is ideal for Nichols students that have completed Advanced Physics in 9th grade and want to take the SAT II in Physics. Our Advanced Physics course does not cover two topics that are included in the SAT. During this one week workshop, we will have exploration labs, group discussions and classwork that will prepare students for these two extra topics. All work will be done during the meeting time with no outside homework commitments. In addition, you will be added to the SAT II Physics Schoology group which will give you access to sample tests and other preparation tools until you take the test, at no additional cost.

Robotics Camp - FIRST Tech Challenge

Two-week program: July 9 - 20 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Enrollment limited to 16 students entering grades 7-12 and 4 Adults that would like to learn how to start an FTC program


This program is designed for students that want to learn to design, build, program, and run, robots. Participants will build two new robots from scratch and program them to compete. No experience is necessary to participate. This program is ideal for all ability levels.

We also offer a special opportunity for adult coaches from other schools who are interested in starting their own FIRST Tech Challenge Team. Coaches will learn all of the skills and requirements to get your own program off the ground as you work alongside the students throughout the program.
