Mrs. Julie Alford
After graduating from Nichols School in 1984, Julie Alford received a bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College. She joined the Nichols Middle School faculty in 2002 to teach science. Most recently, Julie, along with fellow Middle School teacher, Lisa Sauer, have spearheaded a program for sustainable living and healthy eating at Nichols, as part of the Big Green Initiative at the School. One of many exciting steps is a garden growing on top of the green roof of the Class of 1963 Center for Mathematics and Science. She also attends many workshops to keep her science classes current, including the Mel Levine Differentiated Testing Workshop and the FOSS Grand Canyon Earth History Workshop. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, skiing, boating and gardening.
