Laura Arribas is an Upper School Spanish teacher and coordinator of international exchanges at Nichols School. A native of Burgos, Spain, she earned her B.A. in Humanities and Historic Preservation at the Universidad de Burgos, her M.A. in Spanish Literature from the University of Tennessee, and her Ph.D. in Spanish Language and Literature from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). As an undergraduate, she studied abroad for two years: one in Rennes, France, at Université Rennes 2, and another one at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. More recently, she studied French at the University of Québec in Trois-Rivières, Canada, for a summer. Before Nichols, Laura taught at the University at Buffalo a wide variety of Spanish language courses, as well as courses in Spanish culture and literature. She enjoys practicing yoga, biking, going on walks with her dog Bowie, cooking with friends, and traveling.
