Golf Camp

Five days of driving range and on-course instruction at Harvest Hill, Arrowhead, Bob-O-Link and Delaware Park golf courses. These distinct facilities provide golfers with focused learning in putting, chipping and pitching, sand play, as well as the long game. Emphasis on etiquette, rules and mechanics. Convenient drop-off and pick-up at Nichols. Participants will need their own basic set of golf clubs and equipment.

Middle School Boy's Lacrosse Camp

June 12 - 16 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
For boys entering grades 5 - 9

This camp will provide 5th through 8th grade boys' with a fun and intense learning environment where they can work hard on skill development and increase their knowledge of the game. Our primary focus is to develop proper stick mechanics through repetition. Players will have an opportunity to demonstrate these learned skills in game situations on a daily basis. Player evaluations will be available at the end of the program highlighting each player's progress and outline suggestions for future improvement.

At least one year of lacrosse experience. Proper equipment required - stick, helmet, mouthguard, gloves, arm and shoulder pads.

Writing for the College Application

June 20-22 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

For all rising seniors


For three days, students will have the opportunity to work intensively on the various narrative parts of the college application: the personal essay, the supplemental essay, and the "Why our college?" essay. This course will be taught by Nichols Writing Center Co-Director and Learning Specialist, Julia Marthia and our Associate Director of College Counseling, Joel Siepierski. Students will be able to work with these teachers one-on-one to conference and generate ideas for their essays. They will provide continued support through the summer to help complete these essays. Both Mrs. Marthia and Dr. Siepierski have been supporting students in this particular writing process at Nichols School for several years.

Nichols Driver Education course combines the benefits of practical driving skills and defensive driving techniques for the safe and responsible operation of a motor vehicle.

Successful completion of this course will qualify the student for DMV certification (formerly Blue Card) and insurance reduction certificate. (Please check with your insurance company to ensure this fulfills their requirements for a premium reduction).

The program consists of 24 hours of in-vehicle instruction, including six hours behind the wheel and an additional 24 hours of classroom instruction.

Students must turn 16 years of age by July 10, 2017, and hold a valid learner's permit or driver's license to participate.

Students are permitted to miss no more than two regularly scheduled classes and must attend make-up classes that will be made available on select Friday's. Students must attend all 16 classes in order to meet the State Education Department requirements for successful completion.

All students will receive 90 minutes of "in-car" and 90 minutes of classroom instruction daily (three hours total). The program is available from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Registration requests will be honored as they are received.

Nichols School Presents Curtain Up! 2017

Fame the Musical

Directed by Alexandra Merritt Mathews '11

Join us for a two-week Musical Theatre Intensive that concludes with a full, live production of Fame the Musical! In our 5th year of production, Curtain Up! will continue to take actors, singers, and dancers to the next level in their training.

Only 25 spots, so register ASAP!

Activities include daily dance or yoga classes, resume preparation, headshots, workshops with guest artists, and of course rehearsals for the show!

Curtain Up! is a program in which teens hone their skills as actors, singers, and dancers. It is a two-week intensive that leads up to a full production of Fame the Musical. The program is designed to foster skills for college theatre and professional theatre. Join us for a musical summer!

Physics SAT II Preparation

This course is ideal for Nichols students that have completed Advanced Physics in 9th grade and want to take the SAT II in Physics. Our Advanced Physics course does not cover two topics that are included in the SAT. During this one week workshop, we will have exploration labs, group discussions and classwork that will prepare students for these two extra topics. All work will be done during the meeting time with no outside homework commitments. In addition, you will be added to the SAT II Physics Schoology group which will give you access to sample tests and other preparation tools until you take the test, at no additional cost.
